NBA All Star Game Recap: The Western Conference Smashdown

The 73rd Nba All Star Game made history as the Highest Scoring All Star Game Ever! The Eastern Conference served dust to the Western Conference 211 – 186. Quite embarrassing, as the east coast continues to be the defending champions. Especially since the game was all offense.

Nonetheless, it was a very memorable night as the 374 points record set in 2017 was smoldered with a whopping 397 points. And the east-coast made 42 3-pointers which also broke the 35 3-pointer record set by Team Lebron in 2019.

MVP Damian Lillard scored 39 points and made 6 assists, leading the drive to victory. Tyrese Haliburton, also for the east, scored 32 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and made 10 3-pointers to add to the record.

Even with the loss, the Western Conference still put points on the board and their top player, Karl Anthony, made 50 points and 8 rebounds. Throughout the whole game, the east conference basically dominated, being up throughout every quarter. By the end of the third quarter, the east had a gapping lead (132 – 105).

The overall MVP of the ALL Star Game was Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s the second player since Michael Jordan to win a Saturday event and MVP in the same year. With about 5 minutes left, Tyrese Haliburton, Lilard and Jaylen Brown had to duel for the final MVP award. Brown had finished with 36 points, Haliburton 32 points and Lillard 39 points with an additional 11 3-pointers. As the votes were cast though, Damian won out as the flashiest and most valuable asset to the East Conference win.
