Amen and Ausar Thompson Elevating their Path to the Next Stage

Ausar and Amen Thompson the identical twins signed with Overtime Elite in 2021. They are both 6-7 guards with a wingspan of 7-1. They are extremely athletic and run the floor extremely well and have a high basketball IQ.

The twins grew up in Oakland, California however they attend Pine Crest High School in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Amen average averaged 20.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. His twin brother Asur averaged 22.6 points per game, 7.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

The Thompsons twins have been playing on the professional level for two years and playing on the City Reapers team under former DePaul and Virginia head coach Dave Leitao. This season they are 4-0 and they have an average combine of 33.5 points per game, 10.8 assist per game, and 11.3 rebounds per game.

Amen is a superior passer, a great ball handler, and on the defensive side he is versatile and outstanding by operating the open court. Watch out when he attacks off the bounce and he has the athleticism to put up highlight dunks. His size and quickness pairs up with his playmaking ability.

Ausar is a freakish athlete and is quick off the floor. He is a great finisher who can explode to the rim. Like his twin brother he is an outside shooter but this is not yet the strength of his game. He sees the floor pretty well and knows how to draw the defense and find the open man. Ausar reads passing lanes as well. He shows a lot of upside as a defender.

Both of them are projected as lottery picks for this years 2023 NBA draft. They are projected as a third through a tenth overall pick. The twins have the potential to be have longevity in the league due to their work ethic and they have the correct mind frame of an NBA player.

I look for Amen and Ausar Thompson to continue to climb up the charts and don’t be surprise they get pick right after one another. They will be an asset to a team wherever they are picked.
