Derrick Rose at 32 and overcoming all his past injuries is playing like an NBA All Star. His play is reminding us why he is the youngest player to win an MVP in league history. He had to overcome ACL tear and knee injuries to find his way to blossom in his second stint as Knick and reunite with Tom Thibodeau.
Even Julius Randle is dominating and Elfrid Payton is starting over him, this past Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Rose carried the Knicks to a victory and ended with a team-high 25 points in 32 minutes off the bench.
Even this past Tuesday night overtime lost to the Lakers, Randle was finished with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. He came off the bench in 39 minutes and it shows that he has overcome his injury concerns.
Dewayne Wade on TNT said: “If you don’t like Derrick Rose, something is wrong with you”; “He plays with poise. He plays with patience.” Rose is Averaging 14.8 points, 4.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game. Rose has been a great addition for the Knicks coming off the bench.
Entering the playoffs, the Knicks heavily rely on Derrick Rose experience. Regardless of what happens Rose and the Knicks have form a winning culture. Also he can help mentor Immanuel Quickley who is having a phoenomal rookie season and guide Luca Vildoza.
