Texas forward Dylan Disu announced Sunday he will be returning for his fifth and final year. In a short message on Twitter, Disu stated “I’m coming back,” demonstrating that he will not be entering the transfer portal or testing the NBA draft process.
The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 8.8 points and 4.4 rebounds for the Longhorns, who survived a midseason coaching change and made it to the Elite Eight before losing to Miami. In his last eight games, he averaged 16.5 points per game and 7.4 rebounds. Disu suffered a bone bruise in the Round of 32 against Penn State, causing him to sit out for most of the Sweet 16 game against Xavier and the entire Elite Eight matchup against Miami.
Disu will be the focal guy for Texas after Timmy Allen and Christian Bishop have graduated and sophomore Dillon Mitchell, who declared for the NBA draft.
Disu has reached double figures in scoring 46 times, including four 20-point performances in his collegiate career. He has reached double digits in rebounds 19 times in his career and had 15 career double-doubles.
