Caleb Grill has committed to Missouri for the upcoming season. He was dismissed by Iowa State’s basketball program late in the season for “a failure to meet the program’s expectations.”
Grill was called for a technical foul during the February 27th game vs West Virginia for shoving, but it was something that he had said that was ultimately what led to his dismissal from the program.
Grill said “Unfortunately, I said something that I regret which has cost me the opportunity to finish out my dream at lowa State,” Grill tweeted. “I hope that all the players and lowa State fans can find it in their hearts to forgive me. In the end, I want to be remembered as a Cyclone no matter what my next step is. I love Ames and I love lowa State and I will hopefully become (a) booster or donor someday when I get older.”
Grill was averaging 9.5 points and 4.0 rebounds for the Cyclones this past season. He led the team with 36.8 percent shooting from behind the 3-point line. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
