Remembering Kobe & Gigi

Today January 26, 2021 is the first anniversary of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna who passed away in a horrific helicopter crash in Calabasis, California heading to a basketball tournament at the Mamba Sports Academy.

When I got the text I was one of the  millions of people who were in disbelief what has happened to Kobe Bryant. TMZ were the first to break the news. Then went on ESPN and a few minutes later they broke the news that Kobe Bryan died in a helicopter crash.

Then a couple of hours later his 13 year old daughter Gianna known as GiGi was killed as well. The other victims were John Altobelli his wife Keri and one of his daughters Alyssa; then coach Christina Mauser, Sarah Chester and her daughter Payton, and Ara Zobayan.

Later that evening the Grammy Awards took place at Staples Center however prior to the event Twenty-thousand mourners — including fans, professional athletes, musicians and more — paid tribute to Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna onsite. The awards went on paying tribute to Kobe.

Even to this day people find it hard to believe he’s gone. However I witness the love he got, and the tribute in purple and gold not only in Los Angeles but all over the world from New York, Japan, Europe, and other countries.

Kobe tragedy will go down as the worse of all in sports history to this day. However he will live as long as you remember him.
