Chet Holmgren is a 7-1 at 195 pounds with a 7-foot-6 wingspan, he has the size and length for the position to go with plus mobility and athleticism which makes him a dominant two-way center. He has an excellent handle and he can bring the ball out and pass it and he is quick of driving inside the paint.
Holmgren is in the class of 2021 and attends Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is highly being recruited by North Carolina, Gonzaga, Minnesota, Georgetown, Ohio State and Michigan, and is also considered to be a future NBA lottery pick.
Not only Holmgren is the best player out of the Class of 2021, but he is the best overall high school player in the country.
He is even ahead of Emoni Bates (Class of 2022) who is the next great prospect. They match up against each other back on November 12 in which Chet’s team beat Ypsi Prep 78-71 and got the best of Bates. Holmgren dominated the matchup as he finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and six block shots in front of a live national audienc on ESPN.
If he was eligible to be in the draft, he will be easily a top three pick. Once you seen him his size a light frame and even with the tools he has, he will need to put on weight and get stronger for him to dominate on the next level. He is unique for his height, he can play the point if needed and can shoot the three as well.
Chet Holmgren can be the resurgence of the next Center that the NBA has been missing since the days of Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Patrick Ewing. Holmgren has the versatility of the big man in which the league needs. He will be an exciting player and once he puts on weight and gets stronger he will be hard to contain.
