Anton Watson scored 21 points leading Gonzaga to a 89-68 rout over Kansas. Nolan Hickman had 17 points to reach their ninth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance. The Zags blew the game open with a 32-4 run over a 12 minute stretch in the second half.
Ben Gregg hit all six shots while posting 15 points and nine rebounds for Gonzaga. Graham Ike also had 15 points and nine boards; Braden Huff had 11 points off the bench as Gonzaga won for the 11th time in the past 12 games.
Hunter Dickinson scored 15 points, KJ Adams Jr. and Dajuan Harris Jr. had 10 points apiece for fourth-seeded Kansas. Once again the Jayhawks played without All-American Kevin McCullar Jr. (knee). Kansas lost for the fifth time in seven games and were eliminated in the second round of the NCAA tournament for the third time in the past four seasons.
Gonzaga will be taking on top seed Purdue on Friday in the Midwest region. Purdue is an all time 4-0 vs Gonzaga. This will be the second time they will play each other in which the Boilermakers won back on November 20 by a score of 73 to 63.
