Joe Tipton of On3.com report that Caleb Love who had committed to Michigan after three seasons at North Carolina, reportedly decommitted from the program.
The former five star recruit averaged 16.7 points, 2.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 35.7 minutes a game for North Carolina last season. He starred in North Carolina’s run to the NCAA championship game in 2022 averaged 18.8 points per game in the tournament.
The reason appears to be related to an admissions issue, as Love didn’t have the subsequent credits to transfer in, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander. Love was to be a major asset for the Wolverines next season. The team lost Hunter Dickinson who transfer to Kansas, as well as Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard who declared for the NBA Draft.
Love’s return to the transfer portal will make him the best available player in the transfer portal. Michigan still have two transfer portal commitments in Alabama guard Nimari Burnett and Seton Hall forward Tray Jackson.
