Conrad McRae was a problem with his upside game, the guy who threw down the monsterous dunks and numerous block shots. McRae grew up in Brooklyn, New York and attend Brooklyn Tech in which he was an McDonalds All American in 1989.
“McNasty” played at Syracuse from 1989 to 1993. He was drafted in the second round by the Washington Bullets. However he played in Turkey, Greece, and Italy. He became a FIBA Eurostar in 1996 and 1998.
Even with him not playing in the NBA, McRae was one of the most popular players and always opponents never want to part of him. Once he gets in the paint on both ends there was no stopping him at all. In addition, he was quick and will be ready for the alley loop at all times.
In July 2000 McRae collapsed and died while running wind sprints while he was practicing with the Orlando Magic in Irvine, California. He will always be remembered in the New York City basketball community and Syracuse University. Rest In Peace!!!
