Deshawn Deyampert Jr.: A Champion’s Mindset and the Journey Ahead

Basketball has always been more than just a game to me—it’s a passion, a purpose, and a platform to prove myself. This past season, I had the opportunity to compete at the highest level in Made Hoops, and it was an experience I’ll never forget.

I finished the season averaging 17.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals per game, helping lead my team to a championship. In the championship session, I took my game to another level, averaging 18 points per game when it mattered most. But it wasn’t just about the numbers—it was about the journey, the adversity, and the belief we had in each other.

When we won Made Hoops, I couldn’t hold back my emotions. I cried because no one believed in us. We weren’t the favorites, but we took it personally and proved everyone wrong. That feeling of coming together as a team and achieving something we worked so hard for is something I’ll carry with me forever. Made Hoops was always a goal of mine, and now that I’ve accomplished it, I couldn’t be more proud of myself, my coaches, and my teammates.

The Next Chapter

Now, I’m looking ahead to even bigger challenges. I’ll be attending Rancho Verde High School, where I’ll be playing under my uncle, Coach Johnny “Dukes” Dukes. I know this is where I’ll continue to grow and prepare for the next level.

I’ll also be competing with ProsVision under Sean Marshall this year, and I’m locked in on making an impact in the EYBL circuit. My next goal? Winning Jr. EYBL and getting fully prepared for varsity basketball next year. I know the competition is tough, but I embrace the challenge—I’ve always thrived when people doubt me.

This is just the beginning. I’m motivated, I’m hungry, and I’m ready to keep proving myself. To everyone who has supported me along the way, thank you. And to those who still doubt me—just watch.
