Darius Acuff commits to Arkansas

Darius Acuff a 5-star point guard from the Class of 2025 of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida has committed to play for Arkansas. He chose the Arkansas Razorbacks over Michigan and Kansas.

Before transferring to IMG Academy, Acuff played for Cass Technical and led them to their first-ever Division I state championship in 2023, averaging 21.4 points with 5.7 assists per game and earning the MaxPreps Michigan High School Basketball Player of the Year title.

He was a member of the FIBA U18 USA Team, Acuff started all six games in which he averaged a team-high 17.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. In addition, he averaged 24.2 minutes per game. In the EYBL Peach Jam he averaged 20.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Acuff told On3 Sports “Coach Calipari treats you like family. He welcomed me in on my visit like he knew me already. It was a great visit overall…They like my aggressiveness. He says he likes how I am able to get downhill, my pace, and my attitude for the game. They see that I just love the game so much and I just want to win.

“Just how (Calipari) coaches his guards. All his guards go to the league. You see it every year. Also, his resume speaks for itself. He’s one of the winningest coaches ever. He’s a great coach, a guard coach, if not the best.”

Acuff is one of the top ten prospects in the Class of 2025. He made an official visit to Arkansas during the month of May and was impressed by Calipari’s history with guards which led his decision to Arkansas.
