Ron Holland and Matas Buzelis who are projected top five picks in the NBA Draft were very impressive in their G-League Ignite debut.
Holland tallied 23 point and five rebounds while Buzelis scored 16 points with along five boards leading the Ignite to a 124-105 victory over the Perth Wildcats from Australia.
This is the first of a two game exhibition between the two teams. Alex Sarr the 7-foot-1 forward led the way with Perth by scoring 17 points, seven rebounds, and six blocks.
Holland dominated the second quarter with his scoring and athleticism that spark the Ignite to take a commanding lead before going in the half. Buzelis performed both ends on the court and making contributions to helping the Ignite with an impressive win.
After last night we can see Buzelis and Holland continuing to play at a high caliber. With Scoot Henderson gone into the 2023 NBA Draft and the Ignite has added a lot of depth besides Holland and Buzelis, look for London Johnson, Izan Almanza, Babacar Sane, and Jeremy Pargo to help carry this squad throughout the 2023-24 Season.
