Marvel Allen Commits to Georgetown

Marvel Allen a 6-4 combo guard from West Palm Beach, Florida committed to Georgetown. He informed Joe Tipton of On3.com of his decision and said the following about why he chose Georgetown:

Allen said “I committed to Georgetown mainly on relationships. Georgetown called me every single day, came to every single game, and communicated with my family every day. Through my adversity, coach Pat [Ewing] and [Kevin] Nickelberry were there to encourage me and let me know what I’m capable of and that they’re in my corner no matter what. I want to go somewhere where I feel comfortable and play under coaches who I can trust. This is why Georgetown is my choice.”   

Back in January Allen committed to LSU but Wade was fired in March. He decided reopened his recruitment. Allen was recruited by Kevin Nickelberry while he was at LSU and he took an official visit to Georgetown a few weeks ago.  

Marvel Allen who transferred to Montverde Academy for the 2022-23 season. This past season he lead Calvary Christian to consecutive FHSAA Class 4A state championships. Allen is a prolific scorer and plays physical. He is comfortable at driving to the basket and also defends well.
