LaMelo Ball Committed to stay with the Charlotte Hornets

LaMelo Ball is an NBA player who plays for the Charlotte Hornets as a Point Guard and awards 2019 Rookie of the Year. During his time with the Hornets, he scored an average of 15.7 points, 5.9 rebound points, and 6.1 points per game.

His father, Lavar, is a former NFL player and founder of the Junior Basketball Associate. His mother, Tina, was a 24-year Physical Education teacher before she became the Athletic Director.

His oldest brother, Lonzo, is currently playing in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls. His second oldest brother, LiAngelo, is a former player in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons.

Outside of his basketball career, you may recognize Ball in a reality show with his family called Ball in the Family. He also owns his shoe brand called Melo Ball 1 in his family’s company, Big Baller Brand. LaMelo became the youngest basketball player to have signature shoes.

Lamelo announced that the Charlotte Hornets offered him a four-year contract for $35.5 million. He commented that he enjoys playing in the NBA with the Hornets and wants to do this for the long run.

Despite that Ball never wanted to earn a higher degree, his talent had caught the attention of the General Manager of the Charlotte Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Hornets were looking for fresh NBA players to help them capture their first Championship title after the loss in the 2001-2002 NBA Conference finals against the New Jersey Nets.

Ball’s height and strong performance will help the Hornets advance to increase their chances to win the season. His inspiration to join the NBA was at an early age when Ball and his older brothers were playing basketball outside their home.

The Hornets were blessed to have LaMelo on their team. They needed young, vibrant players to keep up the pace, especially as more NBA teams draft younger players each year.

As the Hornets continue to train their players for the upcoming season in October, LaMelo will stay on target and achieve the goal to help his team capture the championship title for the fans, his family, and his hometown.
