The LA Sparks beat the Las Vegas Aces in Overtime to end their losing skid

On Friday night in Los Angeles the Las Vegas Aces was riding high with a six game winning streak while the Los Angeles Sparks was going the opposite direction loser of eight straight. The Sparks was loser at home vs Washington Mystics last Tuesday night blowing a 11-point lead starting the 4th quarter that the Aces easily beat the Mystics at home the night before.

Last time the Sparks won a game was back on June 9th when they beat Las Vegas 96 to 92. As the game started Aces center Aja Wilson scored 11 of Las Vegas 24 first quarter points. But she only score two points in the 2nd quarter as the Sparks jumped to a surprising 10 point lead at halftime. Dearica Hamby taking it to the Aces defense and by the middle of 3rd quarter it was 53 to 38 Sparks.

The Aces battled back with the help of Kelsy Plum and Aja Wilson the lead was cut to ten at 70 to 60 at the end of third quarter. Las Vegas took the lead 75 to 74 going on a 15 to 4 run. They were led by the help of Chelsea Gray leadership and Wilson scoring. Aja Wilson scored 22 points in the second half and overtime.

Jackie Young made big threes late in the game that might have been the winner late in the game. However, Aari McDonald look like herself back in the days at Arizona matched Jackie Young shot by shot. The game went to overtime tied at 83. Jackie Young kept the Aces in the overtime but McDonald who had a career high 23 points and double-double by Hamby with 28 points 14 rebounds. The Sparks broke an eight slide with a 98 to 93 victory.
