Former Kansas guard MJ Rice is transferring to NC State. He played in 23 games as a freshman for the Jayhawks in 2022-23 but averaged just 7.6 minutes and 2.2 points per game.
Rice is a Henderson, North Carolina native and returns to his home state with three seasons of eligibility remaining. He began his high school career at Durham Academy before transferring to Oak Hill Academy and finishing his prep career at Prolific Prep in Napa, California.
Rice is the fourth player from the transfer portal to pick NC State, joining Jayden Taylor (Butler), DJ Horne (Arizona State) and Ben Middlebrooks (Clemson).
