Las Vegas once again became the basketball capital of the summer as the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League brought together many of the nation’s top high school prospects from July 8 through July 11. College coaches, professional scouts, media members, and basketball fans packed the gyms to watch future stars compete against elite competition.
The event featured outstanding individual performances, exciting matchups, and players making strong cases for national recognition. Several prospects elevated their recruiting stock with consistent production on both ends of the floor, while others showed they are ready to become household names in high school basketball.
Here are the biggest standouts from an exciting week in Las Vegas.
Marcus Spears Junior Makes a Major Move
One of the biggest headlines coming into the event involved Marcus Spears Junior. The highly regarded prospect reclassified into the Class of 2026 and has committed to the University of Texas. His decision immediately changed the landscape of the recruiting class and added even more excitement to an already loaded event.
Cayden Daughtry Is Making a Case as the Best Player in High School Basketball
Few players had a better week than Cayden Daughtry of the Florida Rebels.
Daughtry entered Las Vegas leading the Elite Youth Basketball League in scoring with an incredible average of 25.6 points per game while also averaging 6.0 assists. His ability to score and create opportunities for teammates has helped the Florida Rebels earn the top spot in the league standings.
His offensive game is complete. He attacks the basket with confidence, knocks down shots from long distance, absorbs contact, and never hesitates to put his body on the line for his team. Every possession is played with energy and determination.
His performances included:
● Thirty-seven points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals in a victory over Vegas Elite.
● Thirty-four points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals against Utah Prospects.
● Twenty-seven points, five rebounds, and six assists in a win over Team United.
Daughtry continues to prove why many believe he belongs in the conversation as the top player in high school basketball.
Beckham Black Continues His Rise
Beckham Black continues to emerge as one of the nation’s premier guards.
He combines excellent size with elite quickness and has the burst to beat defenders off the dribble. Black scores at all three levels, changes speeds effectively, and understands how to create space for quality shots. He also finishes above the rim with authority and consistently finds open teammates.
Black is averaging 20.7 points and 5.5 assists per game while continuing to strengthen his national reputation.
His performances included:
● Seventeen points, three rebounds, and three assists against PSA Cardinals.

Adan Diggs continued to play an important role for Vegas Elite with his ability to score and contribute across multiple categories.
His performances included:
● Twenty points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals against Florida Rebels.
● Sixteen points and seven rebounds in a victory over CP3.
NaVorro Bowman Junior Filled the Stat Sheet
NaVorro Bowman Junior displayed tremendous versatility throughout the event.
His most impressive performance came with a triple-double consisting of twenty-two points, twelve rebounds, and ten assists in a victory over Drive Nation.

Bowman’s all-around production continues to separate him from many guards in his class.
Paul Osaruyi Continues to Impress
Arizona Unity forward Paul Osaruyi showed his impact on both ends of the floor.

Tai Bell Shows Why the Future Is Bright
One of the younger prospects to make a strong impression was Tai Bell.

Jet Academy guard Chase Lumpkin delivered several explosive scoring performances.

Lumpkin consistently demonstrated his ability to score while impacting the game defensively.
Ryan Hampton Continues to Build Momentum
Kentucky commitment Ryan Hampton continued to show why he is considered one of the nation’s elite wings.
The long and athletic prospect displayed excellent two-way potential throughout the event, and the Kentucky coaching staff was in attendance to support him.
His performances included:
● Eighteen points, ten rebounds, and two assists against Team Durant.
● Sixteen points and seven rebounds with five assists against Team Final.

Josiah Nance Played with Confidence
Josiah Nance continued to impress against some of the nation’s best competition.
His jump shot looked smooth both off the catch and off the dribble. He consistently found his spots in the mid-range game, made smart passing decisions, and played with tremendous confidence throughout the weekend.

Micah Gordon Leads PSA Cardinals
Micah Gordon delivered another outstanding week for PSA Cardinals.
His performances included:

● Fourteen points and three rebounds against City Rocks.
● Fourteen points, eight assists, and two steals against Drive Nation.
Gordon continues to prove he is one of the top guards in the Class of 2027.
Moussa Kamissoko Makes His Presence Felt
Moussa Kamissoko provided valuable production for PSA Cardinals with his physical style of play and efficient scoring.
