Day 3 of the Bridge of Hoops Invitational delivered another round of intense international basketball action, highlighted by the Academy of Central Florida earning their first win of the tournament, BC Dubai’s continued dominance, and Prolific Prep staying unbeaten in a thrilling finish. Teams showcased elite talent, depth, and toughness as pool play nears its conclusion.
Academy of Central Florida Secures First Victory
The Academy of Central Florida broke through with their first win of the event, rolling past host The Star Alliance, 87–61. Central Florida’s balanced attack proved too much to handle, as five players scored in double figures.
Dominique Fisher was outstanding on both ends, finishing with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 steals, sparking transition opportunities and setting the tone defensively. Martay Barnes added 16 points, while John Arroyo chipped in 15 to round out a strong team effort.
The Star Alliance struggled to find offensive rhythm but got a lift from Ricards Aizpurs, who led the way with 16 points, including four three-pointers. Despite the loss, The Star Alliance showed flashes of potential and energy in front of their home crowd.
BC Dubai Rolls to Second Straight Win
BC Dubai continued their impressive showing with a convincing 96–78 victory over DNA Prep, improving to 2–0. Dubai’s dominance on the glass was the difference, out-rebounding DNA 54–34 and controlling second-chance opportunities.
Luka Malovic led the charge with 27 points and 9 rebounds, while Tomislav Vuckovic poured in 22 points. Lukas Kubala added a strong double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, showcasing the frontcourt power that’s made BC Dubai a tournament favorite.
For DNA Prep, Justin Kayode led the team with 20 points, but the squad struggled to match Dubai’s physicality and pace down the stretch.
Southeastern Prep Academy Improves to 2–0
Southeastern Prep Academy (SEPA) moved to 2–0 after a hard-fought 79–69 win over Zalgiris Kaunas. SEPA’s size and defensive intensity proved crucial as they closed the game strong.
CJ Rosser turned in a monster performance, notching a double-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks, anchoring both ends of the floor. Beckham Black contributed 17 points, giving SEPA a consistent scoring punch.
For Zalgiris Kaunas, Ignas Stombergas battled all game, recording 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks, but SEPA’s defensive pressure made it difficult for the Lithuanian side to generate consistent offense.
Prolific Prep Stays Perfect in a Thriller
Prolific Prep remained unbeaten at 3–0 after surviving a tight 80–78 battle against Olimpia Milano. The matchup was one of the best of the day, featuring elite guard play, highlight-reel finishes, and a dramatic final minute.
Bruce Branch III once again starred for Prolific, delivering a standout stat line of 23 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. MJ Madison and Nasir Anderson both scored 18 points, combining for 13 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks as the team showcased balance and composure under pressure.
Olimpia Milano had strong efforts from Samuele Miccoli (21 points) and Mattia Ceccato (18 points), but Prolific’s late-game execution sealed the win and solidified their status as one of the tournament’s top contenders.
