Juju Watkins 42 Points Leads USC to a win over Colorado

On Friday night at the Galen Center two of the top 11 teams in Women basketball battled it out as No 7 USC Women of TROY outlasted the Colorado Buffaloes 87 to 81. USC extends their winning to seven game and with the lost Colorado had dropped three in a row and all against ranked teams.

USC shot 57 percent from the floor lead by making 13 out of 19 from three-point land. USC star guard JUJU Watkins scored 42 of the 87 points. She started quickly scoring fifteen of USC 22 in first quarter on her way breaking the player scoring record at Galen Center for male/female. That was most points allowed by a player vs Colorado.

Watkins said “That’s insane honestly,”; “But of course, it’s Cheryl Miller, so long way to go until I’m in that conversation. I’m just happy to be able to be a part of that Trojan legacy and continue to evolve and grow the game, grow the culture here at USC.”

Colorado will try to rebound on Monday night in Westwood vs UCLA. As USC will host Utah on Senior Day. With win USC closes within one game of Stanford after they were stunned by Arizona in PAC 12 regular season 3 games to play.

The celebrities arrived at USC’s Galen Center to check out Watkins. Not only Cheryl Miller was in attendance, former NBA players Spencer Haywood, and Matt Barnes; also WNBA All-Star Satou Sabally were among those at courtside Friday’s attendance of 5,762 was USC’s second-largest home attendance of the season.
