Arizona State overcame a 13 Point Deficit to beat SMU  

Arizona State overcame a 13-point deficit in the second half to beat SMU 76-74. SMU had a 63-50 lead with 11:28 remaining in the game and the Sun Devils went on a 22-3 run to take the lead. 

SMU held Arizona State without a made field goal for almost five minutes and went on a 12-0 run to take a 63-50 lead with 11:28 remaining. The field-goal drought ended when Frankie Collins made a 3-pointer with 11:06 left to cut the lead to 63-53. 

Arizona State scored nine unanswered points to pull withing 64-62 with 7:54 remaining. Zurich Phelps layup was SMU’s first field goal in nearly four minutes ended the Sun Devils run with 7:36 left.

SMU went 1 for 10 on the field and had eight turnovers which allowed Arizona State to have that huge run. 

SMU out rebounded Arizona State 44-34 as well as 42-22 with points in the paint. However Arizona State 22 fastbreak points resulted in SMU 15 turnovers.

Jose Perez scored 20 points and Frankie  Collins added 17 for Arizona State. Zurich Phelps led SMU with 24 points and nine rebounds. Chuck Harris had 17 points along with six rebounds for the Mustangs.
