Look for Tom Thibodeau to be coaching the New York Knicks Next Season

Bleacher Report stated that sources inform than that Leon Rose is not ready to move on from Head Coach Tom Thibodeau is expected back for the 2022-23 season. After earning NBA Coach of the Year last season, some of the fan base in New York wanting him fired due to the Knick struggles this season.

Last year, the New York Knicks was the most surprise team in the NBA. This team that was still in a rebuilding stage, and had several veterans that never reached their potential ended up finishing as a fourth-seed in the Eastern Conference.

This season the Knicks had high expectations to compete in the Eastern Conference and it has not live up to it’s standards. With a little more than a dozen games left to play, the team has a 28-40 record, is twelfth in the conference, and trails the Charlotte Hornets by 5.5 games for the final play-in spot.

However, despite a run over the last two months where the team went 3-13 and lost seven straight at one point, there is hope. In the new year, RJ Barrett has emerged as a legitimate All-Star level talent. Young talents like Obi Toppin and Jericho Sims have shown signs of strong positive development. After a terrible season, Julius Randle has started to look like the MVP candidate he was last season, and the team even won three straight in March.

With a few games left, it will be a wait and see situation of what the front office decides on. In Thibodeau ten seasons as a head coach with Chicago, Minnesota, and currently in New York he has a 421-317 record.
