Luka Doncic Excited To Sign a 5-year Contract With Dallas

It’s a fresh start for NBA Teams as we approach the 2021-2022 NBA Season. Each team has a main objective to capture as many championship titles for the team and their hometown. It could be a lucky season for the Dallas Mavericks to capture another championship with their star point/shooting guard Luka Doncic.

Luka Doncic is an NBA player for the Dallas Maverick since 2018 and has average of 25.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.7 assist per game. Doncic was the 2019 NBA Rookie of the Year, 2019 NBA All-Rookie Team, and on the 2020 & 2021 All-NBA Team.

When he’s not playing in the NBA, Doncic focuses on his organization called “The Luka Doncic Foundation,” which supports his home country in Slovenia and the communities of North Texas. He announced that his organization’s expansion with a partnership from the 2K Foundation. With the support of the 2K Foundation, Doncic’s home country will build two new basketball courts to encourage children to play basketball with friends and family members.

Doncic is happy to announce that he signed a Designated Veteran Player Extension contract with the Dallas Mavericks for $207 Million. The Designated Veteran Player Extension allows a team to re-sign qualified NBA players up to a five-year contract worth 35% of the salary with an 8% increase each year.

Doncic commented that he’s committed to the Mavericks and ready to win the championship  for the team and his fans. The Mavericks were blessed to have Luka Doncic on their team as he became recognized as one of accomplished players in NBA history.

Although Doncic’s basketball skills push the Mavericks through the 2021 NBA Playoffs, they got eliminated by the Los Angeles Clippers and crushed their goals to win the 2021 NBA Championship.

The Dallas Mavericks previously won the 2011 NBA Championship and haven’t won a team title since then. To improve their chances to win the 2021-2022 NBA Season, they must make changes to the team and their players will need to perform.

The first improvement that the Mavericks will need to add a guard  to assist Doncic in scoring points for the team and stealing the ball from the opponents team.

With Doncic playing strong,  he feels pressure to win the game for his team. By adding new players to keep up with Doncic, the coaches won’t have to rely much on their star players and hope that their new players can improve their gameplay.

The second improvement that the Mavericks made is to improve their players’ performance. When a player doesn’t have a defensive force or shooting skills, the chance of their team of winning is hopeless. That’s why the Mavericks’ coaches use the drill practice to increase their players’ performance and teamwork before the game starts.

The third improvement that the Mavericks have made is to get their players to work together. The coaches had realized that if players aren’t willing to play around Luka Doncic, then the player will not be a stable fit for the team. Even Kristaps Porzingis had to put his stubbornness behind; they all have one common goal, and it’s to win the championship title.

The Dallas Mavericks have better hopes for the upcoming season as they prepare the team and strategy to improve their chances to win each game. With their star player, Luka Doncic, they have a higher chance to push through the season. If the Mavericks can capture the 2022 NBA Championship, it’ll be a special moment for the team and their fans that they can arise from failure and try again.
