Ryan Kalkbrenner returns to Creighton

Creighton Center Ryan Kalkbrenner will withdraw his name from the NBA draft and return to Creighton for one more season, he tweeted Monday. He averaged a career-high 15.9 points along with 6.1 rebounds, 2.1 blocked shots and 1.2 assists per game for the Bluejays last season.

Kalkbrenner was first-team All-Big East selection in 2022-23, a finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award for the nation’s best center this past season. With Kalkbrenner returning another year, CU is expected to remain one of the best defenses.

The school is waiting on Trey Alexander to see if he is returning. If so look for Creighton to be one of the top teams in the Big East.
